The Semana Santa 2008 poster which is the work of Teresa Tomé has been presented.

Last week the municipal poster for Semana Santa was presented, by the first City Council and representatives of the three local cofradías (brotherhood( and other prominent members of social and cultural life in Alhaurin de la Torre. The poster for Semana de Pasión has been produced by the young artist Teresa Tome, an expert in image, and represents an original photo montage, with aface of a blue-eyed Nazareth, with capirote (pointed hood( and black robe, which has a inciensario (incense box) at the front, on a dark background. At the bottom right she has added a colourful mosaic with unforgettable moments of our four processional parades (los de la Pollinica, Hermandad de los Moraos, Cofradía de los Verdes y el Santísimo Cristo Resucitado).
This poster caused a great impression, because the work restores the sense of our intimate Semana Santa, with a predominance of claroscuros (painting technique) and shows a recollection of the processions, and shows good artistic qualities by breaking up the work with a cascade of images loaded with color and fervor contained in the bottom of the poster.
After congratulating the young artist, the councilwoman of Culture, Marina Bravo has argued the radical change of format of the central de la Cuaresma (lent) was an attempt to lighten these events brothers and to avoid the overload of public announcements.
The mayor, Joaquín Villanova, in his speech, welcomed the communicative ability of the work and for this Semana Santa expects a "brilliant, majestic, as always, and if possible, without rain."

On the other hand, during the second part of the act, the alderman welcomed three of the members of Grupo Cultural Jerusalem from Elche, they will be performing on Sábado Santo (Holy Saturday) Saturday, March 22, at seven o'clock in the evening in the Auditorio de la Finca El Portón.
This groundbreaking event has been organised by Argimiro Martínez, Rocío Sola y Manuel Canales said "it is an honour to bring to Alhaurín de la Torre our work to the the province of Malaga, after 26 years of performances throughout Spain in places as prominent as the Anfiteatro de Mérida, el Palau de la Música de Valencia and el Hospital de Parapléjicos de Toledo. The City Council were thanked for showing its commitment and hoped the performance will be enjoyed by the public.
