From the minute we are born, our fragile bodies are bombarded with an infinite number of elements.  All our organs then kick in and work together in synergy to process the air we breathe and the food we ingest.  As we continue growing, learning and playing, serious challenges occur within as our bodies continuously adapt to make us stronger and to recognise and fight germs as we progress through life.  I suppose this is like an Anti Virus permanently connected to “Live Update “.

Each cell performs many complex tasks and we are made up of billions of them and their destiny is dictated by our choices in life.  As we get older, we become more preoccupied by our surroundings and we become increasingly unaware of how amazing we really are, equipped with the most potent disease fighting machine in existence, the immune system.
    
As you know, one of the main distractions of this modern world is the kind of food we eat; over and above what is necessary.  Nowadays, food is a social obligation, a friend, or even a method of self abuse.  Food is now chemically “engineered” to make you return for more.  The priorities seem to be aimed at pleasing the eyeballs and profiteering rather than to fulfil the essential needs of the human body.   The nutritional value of food in general is placed even more on the “backburner “and what nutrients are left, if any, are often diluted and out of proportion and badly lacking in fibre.

We continue to eat ever decreasing quality food in greater amounts. We become detached from the cries for help from our bodies and the inevitable results are unique to each and every one of us.  The primary effects are so subtle and diverse; the consequences are overlooked and are considered too petty when compared to events in our hectic world.  We just simply soldier on just because it is simply expected of us. Secondary effects then create even more vocabulary in our medical dictionaries which take hold, and then we turn to medication, which only serves to nullify and confuse the body’s natural warning systems.  Consumption continues and new problems arise and the root cause becomes untraceable, and sadly, we are teaching our children to follow the same destiny.
