Awarded the projects of work of the Avenue of Las Americas
The town hall demonstrates a great interest to give the maximum speed to its construction

It has begun to go forward, the municipals most important project this term, the comprehensive redevelopment of the Avenue of Las Americas, almost four kilometres long and in just a few years will become a reality. Since the beginning of this monumental work that will change the morphology of the municipality as it will be the main route of entry into the town. The Meeting of Local Government has awarded the contests of draft of the projects of technical consultancy, prior to the start of construction of that avenue.
To expedite the process of the new route, the council has divided it into two sections which have been commissioned to two different technical consultations. The first, from the rotunda to the junction with calle Ermita in Isaac Peral, has been awarded to the company Dionis Consultants SL, for a total of 68.177,96 euros. The second, longer but less complicated, from the roundabout of Encuentro to the junction of the Peñón, has gone to Narval Engineering for 126.015,14 euros.
According to municipal plans, it is top priority to begin this work and despite the national economic crisis which we suffer, the municipal coffers have enough remaining for it to be undertaken, so it is intended that it will serve as a lever for the economic undeniable advantages that they suppose for the environment of the industrial estates and the future airport park that is thought to be undertaken in the area of the avenue.
It will have four lanes, two for communication, two for services on each side and parking lots, which are also equipped with urban sidewalks, bike lanes, decorative furniture, decoration, lighting and so on. It will form the main entrance to the town and will perfectly communicate with the future arteries of the round Hyperexterior, now under construction by the Ministry of Public Works and Road distributor and undertaken by the Board, the widening of the A-404 Churriana-Cartama.
The mayor has stated that, "It is expected that for 2011 the avenue of Las Americas will be completed, as well as two other channels of communication with the capital quickly dependent on the Board and the Government, which will serve as a spur to the establishment of companies in the Airport Park being built shortly with the consequent job creation and wealth. It is paramount in the future development of Alhaurín de la Torre towards the North, the natural hub of communication with Malaga once it is completed and has been consolidated the entrance to the coast by the urban Crossing and we also hope that we succeed with the petition made to the Board for the appropriate widening of the route from the Cortijo Blanco roundabout. If all new avenues of communications provided are carried out on schedule, starting in the next decade, the problem of roads and entrances to Alhaurín de la Torre will be unsurpassable and we will stay fully integrated into the metropolitan area by significantly increasing the area of opportunity such as industrial and residential which it had envisaged in the plans developed for years by the government team. "
