Yesterday afternoon, The Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Alhaurín de la Torre has just added a new off-road rapid intervention vehicle to its modern fleet. The vehicle is a 174 hp power Nissan Navara XE, SUV with double cabin and a capacity for 5 people, fitted out with tow hooks and emergency lights. The new support vehiclexost of 30,000 euros.
The Civil Protection Alhaurín de la Torre is one of the best equipped in the whole province, with a fleet of four vehicles, a caravan trailer equipped for overnight stays in hospital, as well as a Dog Rescue Group.
The group currently has a total of 38 volunteers. In May their uniforms and equipment wil be improved. Since its founding in 1994 the Unit provides support and cooperation to the Local Police, the Green Patrol, and since its opening, the fire department.
Both the alderman and the councillor were proud of the excellent work provided by volunteers in all interventions and tasks for which they are called. The most recent was their participation in tracing the 15-year-old who disappeared in Canillas de Aceituno and was unfortunately found dead. |
