The cost of water purification does not recover in the receipts
It applies to a rate of sanitation `transitional 'until the collector becomes operational
August 5, 2008.-
Given the information provided by the councillor Mercedes Avila, of UI, on the payment of bills for water and sanitation which, she claimed, the Board charged the rate of purification although it has not been done because the sewage collector is not in operation. The water councillorship wants to clarify the following thing:
On November 2 of last year the ordinances corresponding to 2008 were approved in Plenary session on different rates and taxes, among them, that of waters, sanitation and garbage. The price fixed at the rate of sanitation for the current year, included a cost of water purification as it was predictable that the sewage collector start operating in a short time and therefore the cost, which is what we charge the city of Malaga, is normal to have an impact on users. However, in this House a proposal from the opposition, the government team accepted an amendment to the rate that, if the collector by some kind of problem does not begin its operation in the impending deadline, the fee is not charged until they begin to function.
Exactly, for this reason, before the administrative problems arisen at the last moment with the agreement of purification signed with EMASA, which is the motive which the collector has not entered functioning, the town hall approved a "transitory rate" in which the costs of purification are not included, as it was approved in the above mentioned plenary session.
The Department of Water reported that the latest posts to collect receipts, which correspond to the first quarter of 2008, NOT incorporate this rate of purification in sanitation, simply they contemplate the new prices approved in the above mentioned Plenary session for the water, sanitation (without cost purification) and garbage. It is therefore totally untrue as the councillor Avila said that the above mentioned cost should be recovered inadequately..
This transitional rate will continue in the same way until they solve the administrative problems posed by the convention and the collector actually begins to function and sewage are cleaned properly.
The councilman has developed a simulation program that will be made public soon, so that citizens can see clearly what they are charged in their bill (without the fee) and the discount they incur on the anticipated final price including costs purification.
